Veliyam  is a small beautiful village  in  Kottarakkara taluk ,  Kollam District ,  Keralam  It is located on the Oyoor – Kottarakara road in between Pooyapally and Odanavattom, 12 km from Kottarakara and about 6 km from Oyoor. Renowned politician Veliyam Bhargavan hails from here. Main economy of the villagers is from agriculture. Several cashew factories are also there.

Sree Subramanya Swami Temple and Sree Mahadevar Temple are the important temples in the village. Nearby villages include Nedumancavu and Ambalamkunnu. Famous temples such as Kottarakara Ganapathi Temple and Velinalloor Sree Rama Swami Temple are easily accessible from Veliyam.
